Privacy policy
Last updated 26 August 2026. Written in plain language, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
The short version
- LaunchBid has no sign-up. You are identified by an anonymous session stored in your browser, not by a name or password.
- We ask for your email only when you buy tokens, so we can confirm the purchase and send product updates.
- We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use advertising cookies.
What we store
- Anonymous account: a random identifier created by Supabase Auth on your first visit, plus your token balance and activity. No name, no password.
- Listings: the URL, name, tagline and icon of any product you spawn, all public by design.
- Token ledger: every token you earn or spend, including bids, land claims and quest rewards.
- Share quests: the link to the X post you submit, so the same post cannot be claimed twice.
- Purchases: your email, the pack bought, the payment reference, and the order status.
- Clicks: a count of visits sent to each listing, and which listings you visited so quest tokens can be awarded fairly. Counts are aggregate; we do not build a browsing profile.
Browser storage and cookies
- Essential: a Supabase session cookie that keeps you signed in to your anonymous account. Without it the site cannot know your token balance.
- Preferences: your sound setting, chosen skin and music position, kept in localStorage on your device only.
- Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without cross-site tracking.
- We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, which is why you are not asked to dismiss a consent banner.
Who else processes your data
- Supabase hosts the database and anonymous authentication, in the Mumbai region.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides cookieless analytics.
- Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for card purchases and handles card details directly. We never see your card number.
- Gmail delivers our transactional email.
- X is contacted through its public oEmbed endpoint to verify that a share-quest post exists and mentions LaunchBid.
How long we keep it
- Listings, bids and land claims are part of a public ledger and remain while the listing exists.
- Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting and support.
- Anonymous accounts with no activity may be cleared periodically.
Your choices
- Delete a listing at any time from My products, which removes it and the land attached to it.
- Clearing your browser data ends your anonymous session. That also loses the tokens attached to it, since there is no account to restore from.
- Email pagehaul.contact@gmail.com to request a copy or deletion of data tied to your email or a listing you own.
